Advanced Spiritual Writing Intensive: “Resurrecting the Dead”
Two-Week 1-on-1 Instruction and Writing Workshop

Monday April 22 - Friday May 3, 2024

Cost: $750/$695 if enrolled by April 15

Sharpen focus to communicate the life-changing, the mysterious, the holy

Got a spiritual writing project in nonfiction that you’ve left for dead? A piece that can’t find a home with a publication or seems broken or out of synch? And yet won’t stop calling you?

Bring up to ten double-spaced pages to me and we’ll re-visit them together. Over our real-time Zoom sessions, we’ll break the your writing down to its essence, its “so what”—and then begin to build it back out, using mindfulness practice and exploratory exercises and questions to go deeper into the piece and into yourself.

You will write. A lot. Each session will provide:

  • deadline for new material

  • mindfulness practice

  • feedback

  • lesson

  • readings

  • writing spurs (both guided and take-home) on strategies that might take your project in fresh directions, including but not limited to:

    • scene

    • narrative distance/point of view

    • form/voice

    • research

    • revision

Specific focus and approach adapted for your needs. Finish with a better sense of what this writing wants from you and from its subject—or a new angle that might bring it to life.

Writing and supplemental materials posted through Wet Ink online platform. Five 75-minute sessions hosted via Zoom: two meetings in Week One, three meetings in Week Two. Exact session dates/times to be arranged. All backgrounds and faiths welcome.
